PATIENCE IS NOT MY VIRTUE

You know I sometimes wonder how they can do it and yet I am still empty-handed. I am not that far off, I know I am not. So how is it that they can get it and yet I can't. I am confident that I can give 1000% better than 3/4 of what they can give, yet I am not given an opportunity to do so. What is missing?

BEST PRESENT EVER (SO FAR)!

Finally, finally. I have my own ride. Thanks to my parents really for the ultimate X'mas Present. It may not be much to you but it means the world to me! :)

LOVE DON'T COST A THING

Remember when Jennifer Lopez and her entourage (her big tush) shaked in front of our TV screens to the tune "Love Don't Cost A Thing..."

Well, after the last couple of days seeing a few of my friends going through... a horribly emotional time, I come to "randomly" realize that how can love not cost a thing?

Love is probably one of the biggest non-commodity, intangible investment bringing about scarily varying dividends (depending on how you look at it) and it's one of the most high risk choice a person has to undertake. Love in fact costs everything.

Love costs you your time. Every relationship needs a lot of time involved. You spend eons and eons of time building up the trust, the love, the bond. You cut down on time you hang out with your friends, or your family or your own personal space because now you are living the time of 2 instead of 1.

Love is also about sacrifice. You give some to the relationship, you also take some from the relationship. You learn to share things and thoughts and words. Most importantly, you learn to share your heart.

Love costs money. It really does. No matter how much of a thrift you can possibly be or how much of a grinch you really are, you have to spend SOME sort of money. Birthday's, Valentine's Day, X'Mas, Anniversaries, etc.

Sometimes, love costs you your friends and your family. You choose to spend more time with your significant other than you unintentionally (or perhaps worst, intentionally) reject your family and friends that in time they just learn not to include you at all. You have been alienanted.

Worst still that costing your friends and/or your family, love costs you your life. How many have come and gone in life because of love? how many of us have been hurt in one way or another.

But perhaps of all the things that love can cost, probably the most expensive one is your heart. you can put your soul and your emotions and your life all on the line and if it works out, you get your rich dividends. But more often than not, it doesn't. And when it doesn't, your heart and every part of your soul takes a real beating. The worst part of it all, sometimes you don't recover your losses, and you drift away. Like a ghost trapped in the real world.

So the next time someone says, "Love Don't Cost A Thing".. take a shoe and shove it up their... sorry i mean think twice. Love can cost nothing material but everything that is inmaterial.

U R MY SUNSHINE, MY ONLY SUNSHINE. U MAKE US HAPPY, WHEN SKIES ARE GRAY!

Had a Sentosa outing with some of the LuppSup (My RMIT Orientation team name) people.

First of all, kudo's to Alvin for managing to psycho, sorry I meant "persuade" some of us to head to Siloso Beach on a Friday of a school term. Ok we didn't skip school, just that we all happen not to have any classes, except Wilson who skipped his.

The epic moments started from morning where we were supposed to meet at 1000hours Seah Im. I ended up picking KT, Wilson, Janice & Yanmei from AMK at 1030hours because some of us couldn't wake up! Yes I was 1 of the some. Natalie, Rachel, Ben & Zhi Zhong were picked up by Alvin at CCK and they reached the earliest.

Thankfully, the sun was out to play for the 4 hours that we were there, especially during this rainy season. Played multiple rounds of Ultimate Frisbie (where at one point I had sand all over me thanks to a tumble, including my mouth and eyes), monkey in the middle (where somehow Janice, Rachel & Yanmei were the usual "monkeys"! LOL) and Beach Volleyball where my team won 2 out of 3 matches! LUPPSUP OI to Janice, Natalie, KT, Wilson and Me!

And thankfully by 1500hours, we beat the lighting showers and showered in time before all the toilets were crowded.

The crazy us even ended up at Longhouse for a heavy lunch/dinner (yes, again for me! that's like 3 times in a week) where we managed to squeeze 9 persons into a single table and ordered a table full of great food. Unfortunately I was cheated of my Coke Light cause the cleaner cleared my cup without me realizing.
OH MY WATERING MOUTH! LOOK AT THE FOOD! WE GLUTTONS!
That's not all folks, though we were all half asleep, we still managed to find time to head to Rochor Beancurd opposite of LongHouse to play Monopoly Deal (HK Version thanks to Janice).

Janice's HK Monopoly Deal
Somehow we ended the day with KOI @ Bishan.
What a nice way to cap of the day with KOI Bubble Milk Tea with Pearls 100% Large Cup. SHIOKS!

It was truly a day full of fun and laughter and plenty of EPIC moments! We are AWESOME!

P.S: To those who couldn't make it this time round.. TOO BAD! Haha you missed out on a lot! But b etter luck next time :)

A NIGHT OF JACKASSES!

Slow day. Only at Carl's Junior were there some amusement (Read below). Tried hard to study but was to busy listening to the gossip from other tables! HAHA

I think slowly but surely I am getting used to the idea of being a student once again. Oh wait, I take that back. What I meant was I am getting used to the idea of being a more "focusly balanced" student. Instead of the constant playing around in school aka secondary and poly days, at least this time round it's more well - balanced. Probably the question is can I keep this up?

Had lunch with some of the LuppSup gang at school before Prices & Markets. Econs is a real pain in the ass and it's probably the one I am going to suck in out of the 4 modules this semester. I am more of a left-brainer.

Didn't really do much except to dinner at Longhouse, WHICH I must tell you is one of the best places to eat. There's so many good food there I can breakfast, lunch and dinner there for like a month and not get sick. Tonight's menu... one of the "stars" Duck Rice!

Highly recommended. Though parking can be a bitch.
Quiet and apperently full of jackasses at night. Good source of entertainment.
Finally did some studying after like 2 weeks of school at Carl's Junior ECP with Kenneth and Ian. I DID STUDY (a little) only because I was distracted by Facebook and Twitter, then this group of.. I don't know what kind of relation they have but it's weird. 2 middle-aged couple and 3 boys who all don't look related. Initially thought was some Bible study group cause the Aunty kept saying "The Bible says this.. and the Bible says that". Then I realize the couple and this 2 other boys started berating another with like the facial expression of HE DID SOMETHING SO WRONG THAT THE WORLD IS GOING TO END. Maybe he killed an elephant, or had sex in church. I don't know. Poor dude. He was getting fired at all angles. I couldn't KPO cause they were seated at the other side of Carl's JR. And the eldest of the 3 boys who probably is like 25 but looks 50 gave him the stern lecture like he has seen the world. He looked more like a clown with a jackass face. If they are not related then the guy is really getting the wrong end of the stick.. literally. Well they left in 2 cars so...

This is how the guy acting all adult looked like.
I could not hear what they were saying because these group of 4 ... multi-racial but multi-noisy middle-aged people seated directly behind us kept increasing the volume of their own gossip. I mean hello Rich-looking-Aunty with dyed hair thinking she looks like a million bucks but more like a million bark, i don't care if you and your friends are having sex really.. I don't. Don't give a flying fuck really. Especially if you are like 40 going onto 100 years old. I swore one of them laughed like a...

JACKASS!

Though things were supposed to quieten down after Jackass number 1 left (unfortunately Jackass number 2s were still there). Suddenly there came a sound from the closed section near the toilet of 2 childrens' laughter and singing and think horror movie style where the young girl is laughing and running around but you can't see her. Scared the shit out of us. Only to find out much later that the kids were there while their mother cleaned up Carls Junior Kitchen. Still.. scary shit.

OH wells. Got to hit the sack. It's Sentosa time with the LuppSup Gang at *groans* 1000hrs!

Today's Round Up: 12 Jan 2011

Alright, didn't do much today except the fact that I woke up pretty damn late. Must be the great weather to sleep in!

HMT class in the late afternoon, last day of the visiting lecturer who I still find a real PMS-ing lady. Must be menopause.

Dinner with Vivian & Nabilah at the famed Punggol Nasi Lemak though the queue was as usual too damn long. Settled for one of the best food dishes in the world, BCM (Which at that same center is pretty damn good too)!

Awesome food located near Kovan Shopping Mall!

And because it's sooooo good the damn queue is always freaking long!
Settled for one of my favorite food in the world, BCM (Bak Chor Mee)!
To be honest, since the store I patron regularly closed in Toa Payoh, I think this is the next best in the Central area!
Desserts at Ice Cream Chefs @ Thomson (upgraded to a favorite hotspot) where Huixuan joined us! Had 'Italian White and Chocolate Herseys with M&M mix-in's!' Sorry I can't help if I have a damn sweet tooth.

It's now officially added to my list of "favorite chill-out spots"

Can't sleep and I have a long day tomorrow starting with school!

The New Year's Resolution

2010 became the 1st year I managed to achieve most of my goals and targets set, and truth be told, it's a damn good feeling to look back and smile knowing I achieved it. It kinda brought forward the momentum into 2011, hence the goals for this year have been set.

I am not going to fully reveal entirely what these goals are because some of which are personal, but here's a little preview into what I hope to be an equally good if not better year than the last. Mind you 2010 was a rocking great year of epic proportions, literally.

(1) To re-focus and re-building my tennis and up the ante. Hopefully I get to play for SIM this year.
Andy Roddick. Still my hero after all these years (10 years!)

(2) In 2010, it was really the year of the friends. Rebuilt/restored old friendships, maintained present ones, found new friends! But...

They'll be there for you...
Part of the original 7AM Gang who reminded me who I was that made me who I am.
The Alpha Family who reminded me that even when there seems to be no way out, trust that there will still be someone who has your back.
To those who reminded me that after every thunderstorm, the sun always shines.
To those  who also reminded me that where there is people, there can also be love.
To those who reminded me how to have fun after again,
and life is full of ups and full of downs.
You'll not ever walk alone.
The remaining original 7AM Gang!
SP Tennis Team who reminded that old friends may not meet often but when you need them they are always there.
LUPP SUP: RMIT Business Management Team 01! Believe that there are always new sights and sounds.

Of course, these aren't all my friends. There are plenty who are not in photos but certainly played a big part in getting me back up on my feet again these last few years.

... Perhaps after so many years, 2011 could be the year of LOVE?
I gave up on love a couple of years back. It's time to find it and believe it. Maybe this year it's time to focus on a relationship?
 (3) Got back in school. Time to make up for lost time.

 (4) This year's travel destinations

 (5) Cutting down on what was a major part of my life

As I said, this is just a little insight. I have more personal goals set for myself and it's for myself only. I am working towards not having to say so much anymore about my personal life.

BACK TO SCHOOL!

I honestly never thought I will make it to Uni, especially since I have a horrible track record when it comes to school. I pretty much played my entire secondary school days and then, worked my entire polytechnic days yet I always luck out.

Well it's been a great start thus far, that is I haven't skipped a class. Of course I did make a promise not to so lets hope for the best that I stick out this goal.

Studying Business Managment with a major in 'Marketing' at SIM:RMIT with an advanced standing.

Thankfully I made the right choice in going for my Orientation Camp after all. Made a whole load of new friends who lucky for me, most end up being in the same class. And boy are we all epic people!

It's the 2nd week of school so far and I have only sat through like 4 lectures total but it sure as hell takes some getting used to. After a period of work and then 4 months of "self-declared" holiday, and now suddenly I am a full time student takes a lot of adjustments.

And footnote: since i re-start this whole blogging shit again, it's going to take a bit of adjusments. So the colorful stories and wonderful bitching and glorious photos, events and adventures will slowly integrate in.
