Not all fairytales are bedtime stories... The magic still exists today!

"Once in a while, right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairy tale."
- Author unknown

Over the last 6 months, I have had the luxury of attending 2 weddings (of which heavily involved in 1) and witnessing another and it just reminds you that love and fairytales still do exist in the world today... even when it seems so bleak at times.

Wedding 1: Mingshu & Jasmine
This was actually held last December and one which I was quite involved in since I was one of the "brothers". It is always heartwarming sight to see 2 of you friends getting married. Everything was as expected, happy and loving, in your true typical Chinese style wedding day. From the gate-crashing in the morning till the dinner at night. Perhaps there can only be one minor complain that all the "brothers" had... our Watsons/Bus driver uniform (purple) colored shirt we had to wear during the gatecrashing. Everything else was perfect.

Wedding 2: Aqillah & Jacob
Then came the Good Friday wedding this year between my friend Aqillah and Jacob. This was the first time I have attended a wedding at the Asian Civilization Museum... in fact it is the first time I stepped into the museum. I think it is fair the "unwritten" theme of the wedding is 'Rich'. It was rich in gold and silver and beige colorings. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was very family/private-like. It felt cosy and warm and very personal. And as usual, the bride is as beautiful as PEOPLE's 50 MOST BEAUTIFUL combined.

Wedding 3: Prince William and Kate Middleton
Yes I was one of the 2 billion people around the world who watched The Royal Wedding. And what a wedding ceremony it was. Yes people have said  that it was rather grand and perhaps lavish in the economic downturn. I think it was a much needed fairytale in the wake of a rather depressing last couple of years. Just look at the traditions, the dressings, the splendour of it all. It was like a page from a fairytale. The "commoner" marrying the Prince. Prince William Arthur Philip Louis, the Duke of Cambridge married his longtime girlfriend, Catherine "Kate" Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge in argubly the wedding of the decade. And boy was Kate Middleton smoking hot and absolutely beautiful beyond words in that wedding gown. What a train I must add.

Every wedding is unique in its own way and no 2 weddings can truly be alike. All 3 weddings witnessed were all culturally different; one a typical Chinese wedding, the other a lavish Malay wedding and the last a traditional and royal British wedding. But no matter how different each individual wedding is, one common thing is shared amongst all, LOVE. So to all those who don't believe in it or have lost faith in it... DON'T!
